We are glad that you have found your dream cashmere model, and in order for your happiness to last as long as possible, we are bringing you some tips and tricks on how to properly care for the material. You will see that any fears of buying cashmere products you may have are completely unfounded.
We recommend washing cashmere products at 30°C (lukewarm or slightly colder water), and only using a mild detergent for wool, or with a special shampoo. These products are available at the WeAre Cashmere store. Please do not leave the product in water for a long time. Soaking is completely unsuitable. After washing, thoroughly rinse under cool water. Place your cashmere model on a dry towel and gently stretch it to its original form. Roll up the towel and gently squeeze it to remove the excess water.
If necessary, repeat this step again. Please never wring out or twist cashmere products. Lay the model down on a towel to dry at room temperature. Please never dry the product on a heater or in direct sunlight. Definitely never hang the product to dry on a hanger.
After drying, it is possible to lightly steam a cashmere product using a steam iron. Hold the iron above the product for a few minutes whilst straightening it into its original form. According to experience, the ironed/steamed cashmere product will then shed fewer hairs.
The cashmere models should be left lying down; they can lose their shape when hanging. Please keep your cashmere products in a bag. Before wearing the product, you may leave it hanging on a hanger overnight in fresh air. When aired out, the fibres will settle and the cashmere product will be beautifully soft.
Pilling is a natural property of natural materials, and therefore of cashmere as well. Lint can be easily removed. With each purchased sweater, our customers will receive a special brush as a gift, along with maintenance instructions for how to easily comb out lint. It is also possible to remove lint using an electric device that you buy directly in our WeAre Cashmere store.
Another important point which you should pay attention to is how often you wear the cashmere product. The product should have enough time between wearing to “rest” and for air to circulate so that the threads can unfold once more, which will ensure that the material itself will prevent possible pilling. Even proper washing ensures that knots will dissolve and that fibres will return to their original shape.
